Document preparation is not included: The notary does not draft, select, interpret, or provide legal advice about wills, trusts, powers of attorney, directives, or other estate documents. Any required witnesses must be arranged or confirmed in advance.
Texas-authorized fees
Texas Government Code §406.024 establishes maximum fees for official notarial acts. A lower fee—or no notarial fee—may be charged.
The applicable charge depends on the notarial certificate and number of signatures, not simply the number of document pages. The signer or receiving party must tell the notary which notarial act is required. Statutory amounts are subject to changes in Texas law.
